Changelog
October 24, 2026
Phase 228
- When a direct message fails before it is sent, you can try again right away instead of waiting for the send timer.
- Friend request accepted notices no longer show "Mark as read" after you have read them.
- New polls and announcements now say "New poll received." and "New announcement received."
- The avatar editor now names the color and intensity sliders when a setting is not valid.
October 24, 2026
Phase 227
- Voting, reacting or suggesting from a tab that is no longer signed in now says to reload the page, instead of asking you to try again shortly.
- Doing the same while you are not in a discussion now says to reopen your current discussion.
- Reaction counts under your own messages are now shown as counts only, since you cannot react to your own messages.
- Highlights still show every card when one summary has no text.
October 24, 2026
Phase 226
- Sending chat messages very quickly in a row now asks you to wait a moment. Your draft and reply stay in place, and the message was not sent.
- Repeating a username check very quickly now asks you to wait a moment instead of suggesting a reconnect.
- Closing the Discussion Map no longer needs a server check.
- When signing out, a new sign-in that another tab has already saved is usually kept. A sign-in saved at the exact same moment can still be lost and need signing in again.
October 24, 2026
Phase 225
- Linking guest activity now keeps your account's current discussion and next-question access consistent.
- The Discussion Map now shows your saved starting answer after it leaves recent history, and explains when an older choice is unavailable.
- Delayed friend-list refreshes no longer replace newer online or offline status.
- Voting reopenings now recover screen updates after a temporary storage or connection failure.
October 24, 2026
Phase 224
- If the summary service keeps rejecting part of a discussion, that part is retried less often instead of every minute. Its summary is not skipped.
- If your discussion cannot be loaded when you reconnect, sign-in still finishes and your inbox still loads. A message asks you to reopen the discussion.
- Opening a profile and loading your Friends list no longer block each other for a second.
- Server logs no longer show full email addresses when login codes are sent.
- A few error messages are clearer, including the poll message shown when a saved answer cannot be displayed.
October 24, 2026
Phase 223
- After reconnecting, a discussion you were in shows its current participant count.
- Direct messages are marked as read correctly after the server clock is adjusted.
- Server activity logs are limited per account, including guest accounts, so heavy traffic cannot flood them.
- Admin delivery retry instructions now point to the Retry this delivery button and say a retry will not create a duplicate.
October 24, 2026
Phase 222
- Repeated refresh requests are refused before extra account reads.
- Discussion participant and answer totals refresh in order during concurrent activity, including decreases after account linking.
- Account deletion and guest linking can finish when an already applied reward references a missing or changed discussion.
- Login emails use the correct expiry wording for one minute. The privacy page explains that codes are valid for up to ten minutes.
October 24, 2026
Phase 221
- Joining with an invalid discussion link is refused earlier, without loading your answer history. The message you see is unchanged.
- If a message you send again turns out to have been saved earlier with different content, the reply now says so in plain words. Your draft is still kept.
- Refreshing your friends list now loads fewer account details.
- Background discussion updates now carry only the same listed room details used when you join or reload a discussion.
October 23, 2026
Phase 220
- If joining a discussion fails before anything is saved, you can retry right away.
- Loading questions is now limited across all your open tabs together, not per tab. A tab that has to wait shows a short wait message.
- Trying to join a discussion for an earlier question now points you to the Discussion Map, where finished discussions can be read.
- A full suggestion round now says it already has the maximum of 50 suggestions.
October 23, 2026
Phase 219
- Direct-message unread indicators now refresh after closing the navigation menu or changing the window size.
- Mention and reply notifications stay unread if another panel interrupts opening their message.
- Admin retry instructions are clearer.
October 23, 2026
Phase 218
- Incomplete AI summaries are retried before they are saved.
- Direct messages covered by another dialog keep their unread status until viewed.
- Reply quotes use updated author names when chat history is loaded.
- The summary dialog now explains that generation can be delayed.
October 23, 2026
Phase 217
- Topic proposals no longer reveal who wrote them. Each person can still see which proposal is their own.
- New usernames that look like a Talk Branch team account, such as "TalkBranch_Admin" or "Support_2", can no longer be registered. Existing usernames are not affected.
- The menu now says "Signed out" when nobody is signed in, and calls a guest session "Guest".
- Three error messages about questions and message status now say what to do next.
October 23, 2026
Phase 216
- User search now accepts 3–24 characters, the same length as usernames, and says so.
- The middle choice for the next room's size is now called "Whatever". Only Smaller and Larger votes change the size, so a vote for the middle choice means no preference.
- The sign-in button now says "Sign in", and the chat theme preview now says where themes appear: in discussions.
- Avatar tuning and chat themes are marked as free during the beta.
- Message length errors use the same wording for discussions and direct messages.
- The privacy policy now explains that an email block stays while another banned account using the same mailbox still needs it.
October 23, 2026
Phase 215
- Lifting a ban can no longer be undone by background email-block maintenance that was running at the same moment.
- After an unban, the admin page says whether the email block was cleared or that its cleanup is still in progress and will retry automatically.
- Deleting an account now removes it from any retained email block. A deleted banned account's protected email fingerprint stays, as the privacy policy describes. Older leftover links are cleaned up automatically.
- One email-block cleanup that keeps failing no longer holds up cleanup for other accounts.
October 23, 2026
Phase 214
- The discussion map now marks your current discussion correctly while you read an archived room. Its "Return to current discussion" button opens that discussion, and full summaries follow the same rule.
- Leftover records from interrupted summary vote changes are now removed automatically in the background. Summary scores are not changed by this cleanup.
- On wide screens, the question card is now centered.
- Answer choices show a pointer while you can still choose one. In confirmation boxes, Confirm is now on the left and Cancel on the right.
- The "Delete banned account" button no longer appears in ordinary confirmation boxes.
October 23, 2026
Phase 213
- Guest merges count an overlapping starting answer once, even after older answers have left the recent history.
- Interrupted guest merges can recover pending answers and inquiry rewards before transferring the guest's data.
- The main page's starting question voter count catches up after votes, account deletions and guest merges, and older reads cannot replace a newer count.
- Repeated reports or deletion requests for unavailable messages use a brief cooldown. Requests to delete missing messages or messages you do not own avoid unnecessary interruptions to other people's message history loads.
October 22, 2026
Phase 212
- Account updates sent to your open tabs are much smaller: for each question you answered they now carry only your answer, not the question's full text.
- Your profile's "Votes" count no longer stops at 1,000. Accounts that already passed 1,000 get their total restored from the discussions they joined; votes where the discussion was never opened cannot be recovered.
- The main page can now load styles, fonts and frames only from Talk Branch, its font service and the sign-in security check, and connect only to Talk Branch.
- Several messages are clearer, for example "Older messages could not be loaded. Reopen the conversation and try again." Highlight cards now say "Read full summary".
October 22, 2026
Phase 211
- The × button on each inbox notification is now named "Delete notification", so screen readers and voice control can find it.
- Inbox titles and several messages are clearer, for example "Friend request accepted" and "This notification changed. Please reopen your inbox." The discussion map now says "Select a question or room" instead of "Select a Node".
- Signing out no longer stops partway on screens without the mobile menu.
- On the admin page, "Download this page" now saves its file reliably, and the page can load images, styles, fonts, frames and connections only from Talk Branch itself.
October 22, 2026
Phase 210
- Live connections are accepted only from Talk Branch pages at their exact web address, including the port. A page on another port of the same site can no longer connect as a visitor.
- Pages and files now answer only normal page loads. Other kinds of requests get a "Method Not Allowed" reply instead of the page.
- Direct messages now send only the fields the conversation needs. The other person no longer receives the sender's internal request reference.
- The "show my answer" button in the discussion map no longer stops working when your account changes while the panel is open.
- Several error messages and labels are clearer, for example "This discussion could not be found. Reopen your current discussion." The admin password field now works with password managers.
October 22, 2026
Phase 209
- While an account is banned, its email address can no longer be used to create a new account, including with another spelling of the same Gmail address. Lifting the ban removes this block. Accounts banned earlier are covered automatically.
- The server-wide limit on login emails now counts each email from the moment it is approved, so a slow security check can no longer let extra emails through.
- If one discussion cannot be checked for its population target, the other discussions are still checked.
October 22, 2026
Phase 208
- When the main question refreshes, the answer you had selected with the keyboard keeps its focus.
- Mention and reply notifications now show a sender's new username after they register.
- The email fingerprint kept after a banned account is deleted is now protected with a server key, so it cannot be matched against guessed addresses without that key. Older fingerprints are converted automatically.
October 22, 2026
Phase 207
- Live discussion-tree updates keep your position and keyboard focus. Summary history keeps loading when the inspector updates.
- Missing answer paths now say that the room is outside the current tree view.
- Message notifications stay unread when their message cannot be shown.
- Gmail and Google Mail address variants now share login-email send limits and newly recorded deleted-account ban blocks. Alias protection may not cover older blocks or accounts that have not been deleted.
October 22, 2026
Phase 206
- Signing out no longer leaves your account's access key in browser storage. Keys left behind by earlier versions are removed when the page loads.
- Discussion tree nodes can now be selected with the keyboard: press Tab to move between them and Enter or Space to open one.
- Screen readers now name the button that removes a suggestion answer and say which proposal each vote button is for.
- Room size results now use the same words as the buttons: Smaller, Same and Larger.
October 22, 2026
Phase 205
- The banned-account notice can no longer be closed with Escape or by clicking outside it, so the option to delete a banned account stays available. Closing other confirmations this way now cancels them, as the Cancel button does.
- After you answer the main question, updates such as new notifications no longer scroll the page back to the Join Chat Room button or clear the message shown beside the answers.
- Screen readers no longer announce the decorative badges beside each chat message.
- Session messages now explain what to do next instead of saying “Invalid session”.
October 22, 2026
Phase 204
- Signing out or signing in to another account now removes the banned-account deletion option from the page. The option is now labeled Delete banned account.
- After you sign out in another tab, a tab that showed a ban notice can be used again without reloading.
- An inbox poll that cannot open, for example because poll draft storage is full, now stays unread. The inbox button now reads Open poll.
- Deleting your account or signing out of all devices is canceled if this browser was signed out in another tab while the confirmation was open.
- When a direct message is not sent, the reason now appears beside your draft. If you send messages too quickly from two sessions, the wait time is shown and the Send button counts down.
October 22, 2026
Phase 203
- History limits are shared across your open sessions. A briefly delayed message load retries once automatically; further delays offer a retry button.
- Delayed reaction refreshes no longer disconnect a newer visit to the same discussion.
- Usernames inside email addresses and links no longer create new mention notifications. Repeated spellings of the same username, including case variants, count once toward the mention limit.
October 22, 2026
Phase 202
- Links in chat now open the right page when the address contains @, such as a profile link, or is followed by punctuation such as a full stop or comma. Email addresses are no longer treated as mentions.
- When a friend request or direct message cannot go through because of the other person’s account, the message now says so, instead of looking like a problem with your own account.
- Joining a discussion while your account is being deleted or merged now says which of the two is happening.
- Friend actions that fail on the server now say what failed and that you can try again.
- Reloading a discussion too quickly now says how many seconds to wait, and no longer stops live updates to the discussion tree.
- Admin sign-in now locks after five wrong passwords instead of six, and the lockout message shows how many minutes are left.
- Requests with unusually deeply nested data are now refused before any processing, and an unused test request no longer causes server work.
October 21, 2026
Phase 201
- When an account cannot make a change, reacting, removing or reporting a message, answering a poll, updating a profile, and marking messages as read now say why: the account was not found, is banned, is scheduled for deletion, or is briefly unavailable.
- Waiting messages for reactions and profile updates now say how many seconds are left, for example “Please wait 2 seconds before reacting again.”
- Loading older messages too quickly is now refused before any account check, which reduces server load.
- Reaction buttons now show only the thumbs-up and thumbs-down reactions, and a damaged reaction record no longer stops a message from showing.
- Administrators trying to unban an account that is being updated now see whether it is scheduled for deletion, still being cleaned up after a ban, or briefly being updated.
October 21, 2026
Phase 200
- Sending a chat message no longer causes an error on the server or an extra “Reopen the room” warning, and a discussion is again checked for a new summary as soon as a message is saved.
- When an account is briefly unable to make changes, for example while guest data is being linked to it, voting, suggesting a question, joining a discussion, and removing a message now say the account is temporarily unavailable instead of saying it is scheduled for deletion.
- A request that the app cannot read is now reported as unreadable, not as a change that could not be confirmed.
- Answering a poll while signed out now asks you to reload the page and sign in, instead of saying answers are updating.
- Clearer wording for some error messages, including the account deletion confirmation.
October 21, 2026
Phase 199
- After you ask to delete your account, the browser now remembers the deletion only once the server confirms it has started. If you reload the page during deletion, it still tells you when deletion finishes.
- Signing out in one tab now also stops another tab from using a saved deletion session to sign back in after a reload.
- One account can load at most two message histories at the same moment. Extra loads show “Messages are still loading” with a retry button.
- The email, login code, and username fields now have visible labels that stay in place while you type.
- Deleting an account now also removes its friend request and friendship records.
October 21, 2026
Phase 198
- Message status checks now share account pacing, with one delayed automatic retry when another check is in progress.
- Poll checks show when an earlier answer is still being processed in another tab.
- Profile themes and earned featured badges support keyboard selection. Locked badges cannot be selected.
- Delayed chat scrolling preserves the reading position after changing rooms or views.
- Friends have visible online/offline labels and dots, with smaller avatars.
October 21, 2026
Phase 197
- Removing a friend now asks for confirmation from both the friends list and their profile.
- Clicking the unread dot on a friend's Message button now opens the conversation.
- Friend controls identify the person to screen readers, and unread and online status have accessible labels.
- An empty friends list now explains how to send a friend request.
October 21, 2026
Phase 196
- An email address entered for an unfinished sign-in is now forgotten when the tab closes, so the next person using the browser does not see it.
- Pressing Start while still connecting, or mistyping the account deletion confirmation, now shows a short notice instead of a pop-up that blocks the page.
October 21, 2026
Phase 195
- Inbox updates catch up with less server work during busy periods, such as large announcements.
- Summaries in the explorer and the discussion tree now say “Not recorded” when an answer is missing, instead of “N/A” or “Unknown”.
- Opening a profile that is no longer available now says so clearly.
- “Jump to next discussion” in the discussion tree can be used with the keyboard.
October 21, 2026
Phase 194
- Discussion rooms catch up on missed updates more reliably when many rooms change at once. One slow room no longer holds up the others.
- New discussion summaries no longer contain hidden text-direction characters.
- Summaries can be chosen and opened with the keyboard, and a missing answer now reads “Not recorded”.
- Screen readers no longer announce “User avatar” before every name.
- Messages about a missing account now explain what to do: reload the page to sign in again.
October 21, 2026
Phase 193
- Inbox updates recover faster after a delay: one slow account no longer holds up others, and a waiting account starts as soon as another finishes.
- Custom poll answers can no longer include hidden text-direction characters, and moderator result previews show any such characters as visible codes.
- Each account can receive at most two friend actions at the same time. Extra friend actions are asked to try again shortly. Messages and read receipts are not affected.
- Discussion summaries now check their message range before a summary is written, so a failed range check no longer wastes a written summary.
October 21, 2026
Phase 192
- Login requests now pause when network-limit tracking is full, keeping network limits in effect during busy periods.
- Email sign-in remains available when a guest session cannot be started.
- Signing out now clears the last poll's question and saved answer from the page.
October 20, 2026
Phase 191
- Links in chat can no longer be disguised with hidden text-direction characters. Messages, bios and suggestions that contain these characters are refused with an explanation.
- Server errors now show a short message instead of technical details.
- Pages loaded from your own computer can no longer connect to Talk Branch.
- Several sign-in and discussion messages now use plain language.
October 20, 2026
Phase 190
- Account messages now distinguish temporary updates, missing accounts and pending deletion.
October 20, 2026
Phase 189
- Sign-in attempts now share limits across IPv6 networks in the same group. People sharing a group can reach these limits together.
- Admin login is disabled with a clear server diagnostic when its configured password exceeds 256 characters. Invalid password submissions receive clearer validation messages.
- Registered names refresh in affected rooms for people currently subscribed to them.
- Cancelled inquiry retry timers are removed from their tracking map.
October 20, 2026
Phase 188
- After you suggest a topic, the list of suggestions stays visible without reloading the page.
- A single network can no longer use up every waiting sign-in, connection or new guest session, so other visitors can still connect.
- Error messages for requests the app could not read now say what to do instead of using technical terms.
October 20, 2026
Phase 187
- A sign-in code requested before an account was deleted can no longer create a new account. Request a new code instead.
- Direct messages are marked as read only when the page is visible and the message is on screen, so messages in a hidden tab or below your reading position stay unread.
- Answering a large poll no longer recounts every earlier answer. If results are still updating, you are told your answer was saved.
- Busy discussions no longer pause chat and deletions while message totals are recounted, and many votes closing at once are handled in turn.
- The end of a discussion now shows how many participants the next room needs before voting opens, using the same limits as the server.
October 20, 2026
Phase 186
- Repeating a completed friend action no longer refreshes another person's unchanged Friends list or inbox.
- Account deletion checks for completed removal when a database acknowledgement is lost, reports unavailable status checks accurately, and explains that pending cleanup retries automatically.
- Open direct-message conversations now show messages sent from your other tabs or devices when live delivery is available.
October 19, 2026
Phase 185
- Answer confirmation now submits the choice you confirmed after unrelated account updates, and asks you to choose again if your question or session changes.
- Highlights show previews for ongoing discussions; finished discussions keep their full summaries.
- The Newest discussions tab in Highlights now describes its ordering: discussions are listed by when they began.
- Direct-message read recovery now searches indexed reconciliation records in small batches.
October 19, 2026
Phase 184
- Voting for a suggestion during an inquiry now counts correctly. Previously the vote could get stuck and stop further votes and the end of the inquiry in that room.
- Signing out of the browser while another tab is signing in can no longer leave an older saved session that reopens your account. Previously saved sessions may require signing in once after this update.
- Signing out or switching accounts now closes the Discussion Summaries window and clears the summaries it showed.
- Repeated search, discussion tree and sign-in requests are now limited earlier, so they cause less work on the server.
October 19, 2026
Phase 183
- Login codes are now sent only to email addresses in the standard format that the sign-in form accepts, so the same inbox can no longer get around a ban by using a different spelling of its address.
- Loading earlier messages in a discussion now sends only the message details the app displays.
- If your vote history cannot be loaded, you now see a clear message so you can try again.
October 19, 2026
Phase 182
- Summary loading buttons now reset cleanly if the connection drops, and reconnecting with the full summary view open keeps your saved vote and summary navigation in sync.
- Closing or switching nodes in the discussion tree now cancels pending summary loads.
- Poll creation in the admin panel now supports up to 10 options.
October 19, 2026
Phase 181
- Improved checks for pending friend actions and direct-message delivery, limited repeated status requests, and fixed answer retries and recovery messages.
October 19, 2026
Phase 180
- Marking a conversation as read now works only for conversations you are part of, so other people can no longer slow down your account this way.
- If marking a conversation as read fails temporarily, your read status now retries briefly in the background.
- Deleting an account now removes its registration announcement from discussion history.
- Deleting an account now also cleans up friendships and friend requests completed while deletion was starting.
October 19, 2026
Phase 179
- Login requests that fail before email delivery no longer use up the email send allowance.
- Login emails and sign-in boxes now share a request reference, making resent codes and sign-ins in multiple tabs easier to match.
- Public profiles, search results and friend lists now show saved avatar colors.
- Repeated refused friend actions now have an attempt limit shared with direct messages.
- Background name updates now progress fairly when other accounts have pending recovery work.
October 18, 2026
Phase 178
- Someone else requesting login codes for your email no longer cancels your code or makes you wait. Each request gets its own code.
- Login emails to one address are now limited, so the sign-in form can’t be used to flood an inbox.
- After repeated incorrect codes for an email, only the networks that requested those codes are paused. Other people can still request a code, which then allows one try.
- Login codes now have 8 digits instead of 6, which makes guessing a code 100 times harder. You can enter them with or without the space. If the sign-in page accepts only 6 digits, reload it.
October 18, 2026
Phase 177
- After 10 incorrect login codes for one email within an hour, new codes for that email are paused for the rest of that hour, which makes guessing a code much harder. A code that was already sent can still be used, and signing in successfully lifts the pause.
- Loading summaries quickly for several nodes in the discussion tree no longer waits 10 seconds before showing an error. A request that arrives too soon is retried automatically.
- “Read more” under a finished discussion’s summary now opens the full summaries, and it can be used with the keyboard.
October 18, 2026
Phase 176
- Loading and progress messages, such as “Connecting…”, “Verifying…” and “Loading discussion tree…”, now use the same ellipsis style throughout the app.
- Closing or replacing a connection now also clears its administrator sign-in on the server.
October 18, 2026
Phase 175
- When a tab is already holding unsent answers for many polls, opening another poll asks whether to discard the oldest unsent choice or text. Answers that were sent, or are still being checked, are always kept.
- Sign-in requests now wait until the connection has finished loading your session. If it is still connecting, you are asked to wait a moment and try again.
October 18, 2026
Phase 174
- Checking a friend action now reads its status without changing requests or inbox notices. Pending actions finish through background recovery; reopen Friends later to check again.
- Stale Decline or Cancel actions no longer incorrectly show connected friends as offline.
October 18, 2026
Phase 173
- Signing out also clears other open tabs in this browser as they receive the sign-out notice. If browser storage is unavailable, a notice explains that other tabs may still be signed in.
- Opening /client.html directly now supports the sign-in security check and the summary window's close controls, just like the home page.
October 18, 2026
Phase 172
- The page no longer loads code from an outside site; the chart library now comes from Talk Branch itself.
- Pages tell browsers to run only Talk Branch's own scripts and the sign-in security check.
- Sign-in wording is now consistent.
October 18, 2026
Phase 171
- You can now sign out of Talk Branch on all your devices from account settings.
- Notifications and error messages are now marked so screen readers can announce them, and they stay visible longer when they are long.
- Several labels were made clearer, such as "Sign in or create account", "Sign out", and "Level".
October 18, 2026
Phase 170
- Reconnecting releases the previous connection and keeps pending messages and friend actions available to check.
- The mobile inbox indicator stays visible while notifications remain unread.
October 18, 2026
Phase 169
- Banned accounts can recover deletion access by email. If deletion access is unavailable, the notice explains how to get help.
- The account deletion notice can now confirm when background cleanup finishes. Cleanup continues automatically if it takes longer than a few minutes or you close the page.
- Large unread conversations show 1000+ new messages while keeping notification work bounded.
October 18, 2026
Phase 168
- A banned account can now be deleted by its owner. Sign in, and choose Delete my account on the banned notice. The email address of a deleted banned account cannot be used to create a new account.
- When several people vote on the same summary, or suggest a question in the same room, at the same moment, each one now waits a few seconds for its turn instead of failing.
- The privacy policy now lists the services we use in their own section, says how long inbox notifications and login codes are kept, and explains how banned accounts can be deleted.
October 18, 2026
Phase 167
- An admin sign-in now ends after 8 hours. The admin page then says the sign-in has expired and asks you to sign in again.
- The admin password is cleared from the sign-in box after a successful sign-in.
- The supporter page now says clearly that supporter options are coming soon and that nothing can be bought yet. Its buttons are shown as "Coming soon".
October 17, 2026
Phase 166
- When many people answer the starting question, vote in a room, or answer an admin poll at the same moment, each answer now waits a few seconds for its turn instead of failing straight away.
- Friend actions from different people no longer block each other. If Friends is busy, you are told that nothing was saved and can try again.
- After someone declines your friend request, you can ask them again after 24 hours. After you cancel a request, you can send it again after 10 minutes.
- A friend action that is refused no longer makes you wait before your next one.
- Clearer wording when choosing the next group's size, and close buttons now show "Close" when you hover over them.
October 17, 2026
Phase 165
- Mentioning someone with @name now notifies them only if they are taking part in that discussion.
- A small number of networks can no longer hold every sign-in slot and block new visitors. If too many sign-ins are waiting from your network, you now see a message saying so.
- Connections that stop receiving data are now closed, so they no longer use server memory indefinitely. Slow connections that are still receiving data stay connected.
- Several messages are clearer: when a discussion is busy, when a login email cannot be sent, how long to wait before starting another guest session, message length limits, and name search.
- Server problems are no longer reported as a mistake in your input.
October 17, 2026
Phase 164
- The discussion tree's "Updated" label now shows in its intended muted style.
- Finished discussions now explain in plain words how the next group's size changes, instead of showing a technical number.
October 17, 2026
Phase 163
- On phones and small tablets, the room header no longer overlaps or cuts off its buttons.
- On phones, the Live Chat / Next Topic switch now has its own row below the room details and the Summaries button.
October 17, 2026
Phase 162
- Voting on the next question now stays open for 24 hours, so people in every time zone can take part. If the vote is tied or no question gets a vote, voting reopens for 10 minutes.
- The voting countdown shows hours when more than an hour remains, and a reopened vote shows a full progress bar for its 10 minutes.
- The About page now explains that the connection limit applies per network.
October 17, 2026
Phase 161
- The site can no longer be shown inside other websites, which protects against disguised clicks.
- The server keeps running if a background task fails, instead of disconnecting everyone.
- Error messages no longer start with "Error:" or show technical details.
- The privacy policy now names the sign-in security check and the email service used for login codes.
October 17, 2026
Phase 160
- Connection and sign-in limits now treat all addresses from the same IPv6 network as one network, so they can no longer be avoided by switching addresses.
- Some error messages are clearer: a missing account is no longer described as banned, an account merge is no longer described as a deletion, and wait times say "1 second" instead of "1 seconds".
October 17, 2026
Phase 159
- Fixed unread message indicators for larger friend lists and improved recovery of delayed discussion summaries.
October 17, 2026
